Liguria

The village of Crova , Liguria is a hilltop village on the route towards the famous Cinque Terre national park. This painting was inspired by my cycling trip from Nice to Rome. The route from Sestre Levante to La Spezia is fabulous for views down to the sea, there are many small hilltop villages clinging to the side of the mountains. I made the trip in November just after a big storm that impacted the town of Rapallo and the entire coastline. Although the Cinque Terre roads were closed off i was able to pass this usually very busy area by bicycle. It is a spectacular area.
